Social Distancing

 March 15- April 18, 2020

Life as we know it has flipped upside down.
A virus called the CoronaVirus has arrived from China.
Things have shut down.
The news shares how many people have died daily from this virus.
Everything is closing.
Church, the temples, schools, stores, restaurants, even Disneyland-closed.
Grocery stores are open but things are limited.
You cant find flour, yeast, and toilet paper.
Lysol wipes are hard to find, as are gloves.
Romney is doing all the grocery shopping while I stay home to not get sick.
They are asking everyone to stay home and not go to the hospitals so workers do not get overwhelmed.
We have been asked to wear masks and social distance.
Over the last 5 weeks it has been just us.
No one else, just us.

We have been on lots of hikes at uncle Brents and have discovered deer tracks.

lots of walks

we have done lots of crafts.

Our sweet neighbor left these paint kits on our doorstep for the kids to do.
They LOVED doing it.
(because that is what you do now, you leave things on peoples doorstep and walk away)

We have had lots of cuddles.

Miles now does school on the computer.
Bless his teachers heart.
She is figuring out how to teach kids while learning how to be techy.
Miles doesn't like it, and really misses going to school.

She is trying to make things fun and is doing science projects with them.
It makes my mama heart sad for these kids.
They have no clue what is going on and things have been taken away from them.

We are trying to do things fun here too.
We are trying to keep them engaged and happy.

We started a garden and the kids really like watering it and taking care of it.
They know when the baby comes, the carrots will be ready.

The trampoline gets used everyday.
There are some moments that are so peaceful you actually forget there is a pandemic going on.

We made play dough and Miles wanted me to send this exciting information to his teacher.
He misses his teacher and his class.

The kids are getting closer and are forced to depend on one another.

We still get outside and enjoy the sunshine

But we are staying home.
Some days are longer than others.

When we first learned we'd be staying home, we made a chart.
A chart of IDEAS OF THINGS TO DO when were bored.
We all rattled off things and Miles wrote them down.

Life is different now.
School looks different.
And were just trying to figure it out right along with our kids.
