Fathers and Sons Campout

Romney and Miles went to the Fathers and Sons Campout with our church.

All the dads and all the boys pack up and head out for one night. 

I have been uncomfortable with Miles going until this year.

He is potty trained, older and can follow directions (kind of....he IS three)

Miles had been so excited all week to go with HIS daddy.

I was so happy to see him so excited loaded up in the car but I was sad when they drove away.

I didn't have anyone to tuck in or sing to that night.

I already missed them.

Miles is such a daddys boy.

It is so sweet.

 (whenever Miles sees this picture he says "fire! thats hot, don't touch)

 

Sleeping in the tent was his favorite.

Romney said when they set it up Miles kept asking to go to bed.

Now he wants to go again and again.

 

I and so  glad Miles has a daddy who loves him and takes care of him.

I am happy that he has a daddy who will take him camping.

I am so happy that Miles has such a good example to follow.

Birthday Package....

This is such a late post....But better late than never.

Miles recieved a fun birthday package in the mail from his birthfather, his birthfathers parents and grandparents.

Miles had been sick for a few days with a runny rose, fever, and cough when the fun box came for him.

He perked right up and loved opening everything!

He was really excited about his new goggles that came with the swim suit

(he has tested them out in the bathtub)

He loves light up balls and this cool ball does just that!

He was so curious about the clay molds and was so confused why it wasn't play dough.

He was loving the spiderman water bottle.

(we use it almost everyday)

Miles was so excited about everything!

He got spoiled. 

BIG TIME!

We went straight outside to test out the sidewalk chalk.

They were so thoughtful.

The blanket is beautiful and we can't wait for him to fit in all those clothes.
(especially that vest...it's awesome)

Easter Weekend

Happy (late blogging--just trying to get caught up) Easter!

We spent Easter up in St. George this year. 

The weather was awesome and the company wasn't too bad either.

(just kidding mom!)

 

 

Grandma and Miles dyed Easter eggs the night before Easter.

 

He woke up with pink eye Sunday Morning.

Super Sweet.

I am grateful for modern medicine.

Even with Pink Eye, Miles still was pretty excited about his Easter Basket.

He loved his blue frog and his bunny book.

Watching him look for eggs was so fun.

He got excited when he found each one.

 

I think he was just as happy opening each egg as he was with eating the candy.

After we went on our egg hunt and ate our yummy dinner we went over to Snow Canyon.

It never disappoints.

It truly is my heaven on earth.

We hiked, we climbed, we threw little rocks and watched them roll down the hill,  and we laughed.

I love that place!

It is BEAUTIFUL!

On our drive home with 1.5 hours left our car decided to die.

We stopped to fill up on gas and then....

NOTHING!

We tried to get it jumped and....

NOTHING!

We youtubed some stuff on our phones and discovered that it was our starter and that it was impossible to change at a gas station (we needed to hoist it up in a shop)

So we called one of Romneys brothers who has a toy hauler and asked him to come rescue us.

Which he did....

(but we had to wait for him to get off work, go get his hauler and then drive 2 hours)

So we waited...

 got comfy with gas station hot coco...

Watched Monster Inc on the Ipad...

and finally 6 hours later...

We had been saved!

Worst road trip to date.

I only blog it because now it's hilarious.

Our car got fixed with a new starter and it is back to its normal self.

I hope everyone had a great Easter with a fun story to tell.

 

Music Makers

Once a week Miles and I have been going to Music Makers.

A good friend of mine does it every week at our church for all the younger kids who don't go to preschool yet.

It's free, fun and darling.

It's super hands on and I love it.

Every 15 minutes we do something new. 

It's seriously adorable.

We do a puppet song.

(which is my favorite)

We read a couple books.

(Miles is hit or miss on this one.

He is either totally into it or completely board with it.

He'll even get up to wander.

Were workin on that one.)

We dance.

All the kids LOVE this part!

They play instruments.

We march in a big parade.

(And Miles always wants the red rhythm sticks.)

We do some sort of pretend play.

( it is spring break here and that is why there are so many big kids)

This week was a picnic.

We do finger plays.

And its so fun!

Baby Hollis likes to join us for most of music makers. 

Her mama is the one who is in charge.

And that little cutie likes to crawl over to us and hang.

After music makers a group of us go to the park and let the kids play.

We pack a lunch and have a great time.

Every week.

Park day usually doesn't end up this way....

...but what are you gonna do?...

We love music makers and look forward to it every week.

(now that I blogged something, I am rewarding myself with a bowl of ice cream)

Potty Trained!!!

Why did I wait so long?
I was dreading Potty Training...

and for what?

It was so easy!

A couple days before Miles turned 3 we kept telling him

 "when you turn 3 you're gonna go potty on the toilet"

The toilet was nothing new for him. 

We've been putting him on the potty every night before baths for a long time.

So I'm sure that helped potty training go so smoothly.

He really struggled with doing his business at first. 

He was super freaked out!

Sooooooo....he didnt go for a couple days.

Which was no fun for any of us.

We sat there FOREVER, we read books, we sang, etc...

He cried, screamed and hated it!

But finally he went!

Gasp!

He discovered it wasn't scary.

And he discovered he got 2 M&Ms and a fiber gummy when he went.

And now... he's a pro at it all.

He flushes the toilet like a pro too.

(Since we started potty training in January he only had one pee accident and 2 yucky accidents...Go Miles)

We don't need stickers anymore, we don't need M&Ms anymore.

It only took him a couple days to get it.

Why did I wait soooo long?

It's so nice to not buy diapers for him anymore.

He loves wearing his "big boy underwear."

Now if he can just pull down and pull up his clothes on his own that'd be great.

Time to bust out the treats for some additional training.

Disney Days

The sad day has come that Miles no longer gets into Disneyland for free. 

Boo!

But it is totally worth it for him to have his own pass.

Miles thinks he's pretty cool when he hands his pass over to the ticket counter to get in.

Romney has been working a TON lately, therefore Miles and I have been going to Disneyland a TON lately.

It helps the time pass for us when daddy is gone.

But it's been lots of fun because we've been going with so many friends.

Miles and Porter love each other. 

They have been buddies since the beginning of time.

They talk about each other and always want to play together.

We all love going on SMALL WORLD.

Its kind of an obsession at our house. 

Miles sings it all.the.time.

and

 He wants me to sing it all.the.time.

Sometimes we take Elise with us because she isn't 3 yet....so she is still free.

Miles and Elise are very sweet friends.

They are gentle towards one another and never fight.

I can't even handle that her family is moving to Texas this summer.

It would be a dream if these two got married.

Just sayin.

...More the merrier....

...These little monkeys can play on the beads in Carsland all day.

One afternoon when we were just getting into the park Miles said he wanted to see Pluto.

and BAM there was Pluto.

(that was easy)

On our last visit, there was nobody at Disneyland.

There were no lines, and we were able to ride so many rides that we normally don't get to because we don't want to wait for hours.

We got to ride Dumbo and only waited 12 minutes!

12 minutes!!!

If you know Dumbo then you know that is record breaking!!!

We got to do Finding Nemo.

15 minute wait.

15!!!

This was Miles first time riding it.

He loved it!

He kept saying "we're in the sea."

Another first was Autopia.

He got to drive!

It was hilarious!

We were all over the map but we both laughed out loud as our heads whipped in all directions. 

 

Jane is so sweet to Miles.

She just turned 5 but totally dives into Miles 3 year old mind.

I appreciate her.

We went on Little Mermaid and decided it was time to go home.

He was OUT!

We've been spoiled this past month with good weather and good friends. 

Miles is loving Disneyland more and more the older he gets. 

We'll most likely be there this up coming week again.
