Ladies Ladies Ladies!!! It's October. Why is that important? It's breast cancer awareness month. Our mom is a survivor of 7 years!!! Go mom!!! Girls get checked! If you're still too young for checks, tell your mom, aunts, and sisters to get checked!! According to the Oncologist from the Oprah Show, if you are 35 or older you need yearly exams. If you have family history of breast cancer your yearly exams should start at 30! However the research from the internet says age 40 and older for exams and start at age 35 if there is family history. Talk with your OBGYN! Earlier the better; that is what saved our mom!

I did not know that! I also did not know that they do them that early...I guess I'm up for it next year:)
How cool that your mom is a survivor.
I will now be aware! Great post!
I saw that show today too. I wonder what insurance will let you actually get a mammogram at 30 or 35. I’m guessing it’s not the one we have. But I should make an appointment anyway.
I didn't know that your mom is a survivor either. She's amazing!!
I didn't know... but good job reminding everyone to get checked:)
Erin, It is Ruth Ann Harrison!! Amy had a 'link' to you!! Good to see pics of your family - we had some great times together for many years. It's great that your mom is a survivor ... she is a neat lady. Keep blogging - you are amazing!!
We decided to put our profile on private so if you haven't received an invitation just send your e-mail address to harpjean14@msn.com & we will add you
Love,
Kurt & jeana
I didn't know that about your mom!! That's amazing...thanks for passing the word along...It's something we take seriously in my family. I've have a few family members survive cancer and then some we lost to it.
I can't believe how quickly time goes. Thank goodness for early detection. What a great mom we have!
Aren't we lucky to be able to say that she's a survivor. Thank Goodness--we are a blessed family. If any of you reading have not gotten your base--get it early, get it now. How important early detection is. It could've saved my Aunt's life, but she waited because she was scared. What a shame.....
Don't wait, ladies. You're too important.
Go early detection!!! I cant wait to be 30 and experience that wonderful mammogram :)
ok - about the photo wall...
I just uploaded pictures into costco photo center, changed them to black and white, and ordered a variety of sizes. Then I painted over the top of them with matte mod podge so they wouldnt glare. Then I mounted them with double sided tape onto black foam board from staples.
I think it turned out really cute! If you do it, I want to see pictures!!!! Good Luck
REALLY??? I didn't know Momma Link had breast cancer!! How amazing she is!!! Love you guys!!
Dear Erin, I've been to the Big Island once & toured the whole island. I remember the black sand beaches, eating at Bubba Gumps & being super close to a volcano. I'm going again for Thanksgiving next month (with Steves fam) and staying at an all inclusive place, I think. I look forward to snorkeling, and being a beached whale.
