A New Rug

I know I know I have not updated in a long time, and I'm sure I have lost some readers. No excuses!!! Summer just came and went and I lost track of time. Seeing that we have not done hard core construction this summer it was time to buy a few things to attempt decorating. There is a new Pottery Barn Outlet that just got here....FANTASTIC! So we thought we'd go check it out and WALLAH we purchased a new rug. So from there, I bought some new fabrics and am going to try to make some pillows. I have no idea how to but it cant be that hard. Seriously do you know how much decorative pillows are??? I'm not willing to spend 40 bucks on a little pillow! So that was my motivation to make some.

Has anyone ever made pillows? Any tips?

Pottery Barn Outlet?!?!?! Where is it? I might have to make a stop while I'm in the states. :)

Good luck with the pillows. What's the best is you get to pick the material. SWEET! I would pay someone and it would still be cheaper.

I'm loving the rug! I can tell that it feels good under foot too! Do a search on how to make decorative pillows on Google. You might also unpick one of those green ones and use it as a pattern. ALSO...check out TJ Maxx or Marshalls...I know there isn't one that close...but check it out next time you are near one. LOVE YOU ERNIE! xoxoxo

I LOVE your new rug! I need to decorate!! Pillows aren't hard, I've sewed about 2 things in my entire life and one of the things was pillows. I've had fun seeing you the last few weeks! I'll be setting up yours and Romney's interviews soon...maybe we can hang out again. :)

I love your home!! I didn't know there was a pottery barn outlet. I have mad pillows two ways. One is stuff them yourself the other is just to make a pillow case that will tightly fit a cheap white target pillow and then slip your case over it and sew it shut. You can add all sorts of embellishments too (like frays or tassels). You can get those at the 99 cent store sometimes.

I've made pillows. I decorated Ashley's bed with a bunch of them (though they were girly and frilly). If you have in mind what you want and have your material give me a call and we could try it out.

Also, love the new rug, so nice and I totally agree with you on the dumb cost of decorative pillows, out of control!!! I wish I could help on knowing how to make them, I am not that talented, YET!!!
Love all the stuff you do to your beautiful home!
