Somebodys Been Canning....

I know I know; but it's so much fun. I've been really motivated lately to get our food storage together and get prepared for whatever is coming our way. I have gone to the cannery twice now and have more appointments lined up. My last appointment my sister in law Shannon and Romney went with me. Having Romney there was great, he lifted everything and poured everything right into the can, meanwhile all the "sisters" are scooping a cup at a time. We cranked out tons of stuff... therefore the bill was alot bigger. I am only canning practical things that we will eat and have a 30 year shelf life so it can store for a very long time and not have to worry about it. I love that we are getting ready and feeling at ease about it...I guess we need some water for all food....

You're the bomb.com! I've been having that same need to prepare...it helps having a cannery so close too here in Utah. We're trying to get other items too...like the 72 hr ready as well as the long term ready. I'd have to say that it helps to love Latino Food because Rice and Beans are easy to store...and so yummy!

Way to go, Erin!! Gotta get ready for the earthquake you know. But...What happens if the roof caves in and crushes all your cans???? Maybe you could invent some kind of indestructible canning method. You'd be a genius. Just kidding, sis. Good for you for following the Prophet. You're a great example to me and your brother.

Good job Ernisha! If disaster strikes you will be able to hold down the fort! After that earthquake when we were visiting last month and then the tornado watch here last week, I've taken your example to heart...my 72 hour kit is near complete. =) Thanks Ernie!

You go girl! Those cans are such bliss to my eyes, especially when they are new and not 10 years old. :)
