We woke up early and took a big road trip to Milford Sound.
We got our tickets and waited for our boat.
Milford Sound consists of massive rock formations created by ancient glaciers. The rocks shoot out of the water and when it rains, more than 200 days out of the year, it produces hundreds of water falls.
We were expecting the rain, but we were bummed at how low the clouds were.
But it still was beautiful.
It was very cold.
Penguins even live here but we didn't spot any.
Here we are nice and happy AND DRY.....
...then we went to the top of the boat where the wind was a blowing!!!
While we were taking our family picture we weren't really paying attention to where we were headed...
We were headed for a huge waterfall
AND WE GOT SOAKED!
We were not directly under the fall but the mist drenched us!
It was hilarious!
We hurried back in the boat to dry off and warm up.
My glasses were fogged up and I couldn't see a thing!
It was so pretty coming out of the sound and looking back at the rocks.
We would love a re-do at Milford Sound.
We really didn't mind the rain, we would just love to see it in all its glory.....less cloudy.
