Lane turns ONE

May 17, 2019

Lane is ONE.
My baby boy is one.
It is bitter sweet.
It is still so unreal how this little tyke came into our family.
Lane was in freezer for 10 years just waiting to come to us.
So we had a frozen/arctic/cold/icy first birthday.
It was only appropriate.

Lane was thee cutest little Eskimo birthday baby

It didnt take long to figure out how good cake tastes...

Lane is such a sweet sweet boy who is just so happy.
He is walking everywhere-before we know it, he'll be running around.
He loves playing ball.
He LOVES his daddy.
He loves waving goodbye to Miles every morning when he leaves for school.
He wants to follow the big kids around constantly.
He loves hugging any and all babies especially his size.
He is still obsessed with his pacifier.
His 23 pound body is loving green beans, blueberries, cheerios, cottage cheese, and any marinated chicken.
When he sees something exciting he says "wow".
He is saying Ba for ball and Ma for more
He is dragging books around to read.
He is really good at unloading the dishwasher while I'm loading it--same with laundry,
He unfolds he folded laundry and empties the trash cans.
He loves brushing his teeth with the kids.
 Oh, we just love him.
He really is a good caboose and we are grateful he was willing to wait so long to come.
Happy  Birthday Lane.

Music Makers and PACI FREE

(every Wednesday since Miles was 3
 but May 2019)

Andie is really liking Music Makers.
She is sitting better during story time and is loving the movement music time!

My friend Rachel uses the church building and invites who ever to come.
My kids have loved going and look for forward to every week.

It seems like Andie is getting older over night.

And she is now officially paci free.
Cold turkey-it's gone!
This has been the one thing that we couldn't get rid of.
She sleeps with one every night!
We know, she is too old for one but when you have a PACIFIER KID...you understand the struggle.
So how did we go cold turkey?
Well.....
She just woke up from a nap and was groggy...
She went to the bathroom and accidentally dropped her paci out of her mouth while the toilet was flushing.
Romney was a work and I wasn't going to go looking for it!
I knew this was the window to detox.
I went and found all the other pacis and hid them in my closet.
I told her that daddy would come home in a couple of days and look for it.
She asked for it the first couple of nights and I reminded her that it went down the toilet and we had to wait for daddy.
She was sad on night two but didn't cry for it.
I was shocked there were no tantrums.
By day four she stopped asking for it.
She did it!
Good job Andie girl!

Soccer Season

Spring 2019

Miles wanted to play another year of soccer.
It is easier for our family to do spring soccer!!
Miles is getting more confident and really trying this year.
He is gettin in there are even scored a goal this season.

GO MILES!!!

Easter

(April 2019)

The kids were super excited to color eggs this year.
We worked around Romney work schedule because he had to work this year.

The morning of Easter the kids found a basket full of books, new bathing suits, coloring books, reading books, bubbles and candy.

We went outside for their egg hunt.
Miles and Andie ran around and Lane stayed on my hip.
Next year buddy.
Next year.

We ate some candy, looked at our books, played in the basket and got ready for church.

As fun as the Easter Bunny is I am thankful we are teaching our kids about the real reason we celebrate Easter.
We know that Jesus Christ lives.
Happy Easter.

Childrens Discovery Museum of the Desert

 (April 15, 2019)

We decided to skip school today and surprise the kids with a day at Disneyland.

We had to make a stop on the way and while I waited in the parking lot and Rom ran in the store I happened to check to see if our passes were good for that day.
I am so glad I checked because we were blocked that day!
We never told the kids where we were going, so we knew they were not going to be disappointed.

We quietly brainstormed in the home depot parking lot with few ideas of what we could do.
Childrens Museum....
So we turned the opposite direction and headed to Palm Springs.

And what a cute museum it was.

They played with the light up board

Andie LOVED the air cylinder air station.
IT really is for handkerchiefs to blow out of but Andie found other ways to play with it.

We found microscopes and looked at bugs
Lane found a himself in the dress up exhibit and COULD NOT get enough!
We built a golf ball track out of different pipes

The boys put the skeleton back together bone by bone

Andie loved the craft area.

There were so many different things that got the kids thinking.

Sometimes you need a hooky day as a family.
And it was a great day.

Lane is 11 months

(April 2019)

 Lane is 11 months!!!
This boy is walking more than crawling these days and has added mamamama to his daily babble.
We swear he says 'hhhhhiiiiii' and has thee cutest little wave to greet you.
He is super fun to play roll the ball back and forth with.
He growls like a lion when asked "what does a lion say"
He gives the sweetest hugs and biggest slobbery kisses on demand.

He is clapping, squealing, and eating his fair share of food.
He loves drinking from his sippy cup.

He loves books!
And we love having another reader in the house to help with this demand!

He had his first sidewalk chalk lesson with the big kids.

Lane gets into everything!
Every cupboard, drawer, and cabinet and destroys!

He unloads every item one by one until his work is done.

He goes through many clothes a day!
We are constantly switching wet, messy or dirty clothes!
He loves baths and babies.
He wants to play with them all, its very sweet.
Oh this boy,
he has capured the hearts of many already.
We love you Lane.

Peru Part IV

(April  2019)

After a great time in Puno we flew back to Cuzco.
We spent time discovering this darling town.

But first thing is first....
a two week old llama
(for all i know it could be a goat but, it is adorable)

We went to the Coricancha
It was not only the most sacred site in the Inca religion but was considered the very center of the Inca world.

We learned that though the Peruvian people are predominantly catholic they have merged their heritage with it.
They are catholic but pay respect to Pacha Mama daily.
We found this picture hanging in the museum portion of the Coricanha.
I died laughing and quickly pulled up this picture of Romney at Lake Titicaca to do a side by side.
It is unclear what the Inca man is doing but we know Romney is about to eat the reeds from the water.
We had a great time taking a tour through Saqsaywaman (people pronounce it Sexy Woman)
Fun fact: Saqsaywaman in Incan means "satisfied falcon"
We loved taking pictures with all our guides.
It was such a beautiful day.
The clouds, the greens, the black rocks, the grazing llamas and al paca.
All of it was gorgeous!
When we made our way out of the park we found the cutest ladies with the cutest, fluffiest al paca.
I'm not even a huge animal lover, but I couldn't get enough!

We decided to hike the trail out of the park and find a taxi on the other side.
We loved it!!

We had the taxi drop us off back  at the city center.
We walked on some pretty narrow streets and found....

....a yummy bakery!

As soon as the sun set it was super cold and we went to a delicious hot chocolate bar.

We ate one last FANTASTIC Lomo Saltado and Chicha Morada for dinner.

And we couldn't end the trip without shopping in the crazy markets!
It is so fun getting lost in those things.

 Peru was pretty magical.
It was nothing I thought it would be and I would 100% recommend it to everyone!
One of my favorite things about Cuzco was the statue of Jesus Christ.
He was up on the hill for all to see from every angle.
At night He was the light.
It was my favorite.

Adios Peru.
You were something special.
