First day of school

August 17, 2020

Well school has started and it isn't what we expected.
We are not starting in person.
Covid.
We are starting school on the computer.
Boo.
We are trying to have a good attitude about it so the kids have good attitudes.

So here we are... the first day of school....
 THIRD GRADE
(with no shoes, no new backpack, and no new lunch box)

Romney built Miles a desk for school.
I stand in front of this desk and shake hands with him to welcome him into his classroom every morning.

Here is Miles school schedule.

We decided last minute to put Andie in TK rather than kindergarten.
With school online it'll be easier for her and less pressure for her.

We have her set up in the living room and Lane wants to be a part of it.

It is going to rough keeping the kids attention on a computer all day.

The phrase "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is my motto this school year.
It may be sour lemonade but were going to make LEMONADE!

Andie is 5

August 17, 2020

Happy Birthday Andie girl!
I cannot believe she is 5!
To know Andie is to love Andie.
There is no one like her.
She brings so much joy and laughter to all.
She finds joy in everything.
Which is contagious.
Her busy body is always up to something. ALWAYS!
She is constantly outside catching lizards and making homes for them.
She loves all things crafty, coloring in coloring books, and making messes.
Therefore she always needs a bath or shower.
She isn't scared of much and will try almost all foods.
She loves helping in the kitchen and spices.
We appreciate the foodie in her.
She likes to clean up but cannot keep her room clean to save her life.
She has become a good big sister to Lane this year and is adorable with baby Kit.
She has a lot of energy and know it'll be for her advantage one day.
She is smart, fun, creative and FUNNY!
Its always a treat when she talks. You never know she's gonna say.
We embrace her mismatched outfits she picks out daily and her independence.
Shes already moving mountains.

We called a few friends and asked if they were comfortable coming over to celebrate!
They all said YES!!
Andie was so so excited to have people over!!
It was so fun to see these kids play and interact.

She wanted a party with a pinata.
Done!

The kids decorated their own cupcakes

and she got to open presents!

 Happy Birthday Andie Girl!

2 months old

August 5, 2020

Baby kit is 2 months old.
She is smiling and cooing from time to time.
I have managed to take lots of smiling pictures but its still from time to time.
In true Link form Kit loves to sleep in alllllll morning.

She has stayed tiny for our enjoyment.
She wore her last new born diaper last night.
And that makes me sad that she is growing.
It's always so fun to have a baby in the house.
She is breast feeding so much better!
She is almost a full time feeder.
She is latching in the day great but gets a little lazy in the night.
So I pump in the night and she drinks that all up!
Then back to regular breastfeeding in the morning.
Were getting there though.

Lane greets her every morning with a hug and kiss.

Andie sings "you're my sister, you can eat brownies when you're older" almost daily.
I think Kit loves the idea.

Miles wants to hold her every night before he goes to bed.

She has found her thumb.
It is so adorable.
Whenever I see it, I replace it with a pacifier.
It so cute though.

We are just loving on her as much as we can.

Texas

July 22, 2020 - August 4, 2020

I had my six week check up with my doctor while Romney and the kids waited in the car.
I got clearance from my csection and we set off straight to the airport.

We flew out to Texas and all of us were so happy.
We have been away from family and friends for so long we were so excited to be together!
Romney and Ethan went backpacking for a few days and I stayed with Amy.
I still had a newborn and Amy was so good about sending me away to nap and letting me sleep in.
The kids played hard everyday!

There was fishing, frog catching, sailing, bounce housing, popcicles and love.

Lane and Andie loved Cowboy Kade.

Andie rocked the boots as she was figuring out the bird feeder!

Lane managed to find markers and color on their wall too.
ughhhhhh that boy!

Baby Kit was such a good baby while we were there.
She is just such a honey.
Even though Miles was off playing every second of everyday he still would come and ask to hold his baby sister.
Andie and Blakey

Andie loves going to the Stubbs.
She is in animal heaven.
She lovs going down to see the chickens and get the eggs they lay.
Amy and Kit
We flew to Texas but Byron and Tammy weren't super comfortable with us traveling on an airplane and then coming to see them.
Covid has changed the way we think and feel.
I just want it to go away!
But after we were in Texas a week my brother called and asked us to come over.
I doubled checked with his comfort level and he assured us that it was okay.
So we went and had a great time.

I was so happy to see my brother and hug him.
I am so glad he could meet Kit and love on her.

We sure love Texas and the people who live there.
We love them so much and miss them.

4th of July

July 4, 2020

Happy 4th of July!
My parents came back to help since Romney went back to work.
And I am so grateful they could come.
I am still not cleared to lift and need a little extra help for another week.

grandpa and the kids went swimming and did some 4th of July crafts

Grandma and Grandpa brought sparklers and it was the HIGHLIGHT of their day!

If my parents  didn't come, we would have had a bummer of a day.
Dad was at work, mom is still recovering from surgery and our town wasn't doing fireworks (because of covid)
But grandma and grandpa made it special!

and look how cute this fire cracker is.

1 month old Kit

A month has past and baby Kit is the sweetest.
We have had a long month trying to get her to gain weight and figure out breastfeeding.
With help from a lactation consultant, pumping and formula were getting things taken care of.
We also had to go back to the hospital for light therapy.
Her Jaundice levels were too high-and she needed that extra help.
Now that its behind us, we can move forward!
Even with all the chaos it has been heavenly.

We have enjoyed all the love given
We have loved all the cuddle time that comes with a new baby

Her eyes are opening up more and more.

She is confused with her days and nights

and LOVES to be held.
She always crosses her legs when she feeds and its the cutest thing!
(her little piggies are so so little and cute!)

 Happy one month baby girl.
