Lane is 8 Months

(January 17, 2019)

Baby Lane is 8 months old today.

He did it! 

He figured out how to crawl.

Life will never be the same.

I swear he just mastered being able to get into the sit position.  

It's going so fast.

He is getting into all sorts of things and is finding all the small chocking hazards on the floor that we somehow cannot see.

He is a good eater!

He is into asparagus, butternut squash and applesauce.

He uses his cute little fingers to pick up puffs and yogurt melts.

He has a loud squeal and is working on a good growl.

We think he is trying to wave Hi and loves face-timing with family.

His is quick to smile.

He loves his toys and is currently trying to balance on his knees....what is happening???

Stop growing.

 

 He loves his toy basket and it keeps him busy.

He is trying to pull himself up on things and has a few times but he cries because he's not sure what to do. 

But he does love to crawl to us and climb up around our neck for a little squeeze.

 

Lane sat in the shopping cart for the first time and he was super excited about it.

He didn't hold back one smile with all the attention he got from the shoppers. 

This boy LOVES LOVES LOVES his paci.

He now needs multiple of them when taking a nap or going to bed.

He puts one in his mouth and rotates them.

Silly boy.

He also likes sleeping to the waves crashing on the noise maker. 

He is still Miles number one fan!

He laughs at everything he does.

They are a good pair.

 

And last, Christy came to visit!

We appreciate her and love any chance we can see her.

 

Our hearts are so full.

We love this boy.

Happy 8 months Lane.

Lane 7 months old

(December 2018)

 

This baby is 7 months! 

Lane is growing too fast and I hate it.

He has two tiny teeth coming in and LOVES food.

He yells and squeals with joy and has such a big smile.

 He is constantly bouncing on his chubby legs-but when we put him in the Johnny Jumper he will not bounce!

He can get on all fours and rocks back and forth...crawling is on the horizon.

He thinks he is hilarious when he sees himself in a hooded towel.

 

 

Lane always wants to play with this bouncer but wont last long when strapped in there.

 

 He is entertained with a spoon while in his highchair.

He loves applesauce, butternut squash and carrots these days.

 

 

He is self feeding more and more grabbing little puffs and rice crackers.

 

Lane is obsessed with Miles.

They have a screaming back and forth game that gets pretty loud.

(a little back story on the masks....I asked Miles to please watch Lane on the floor for a few minutes while I bathed their sister.  I popped my head into Miles room to check on them and saw this. It was hilarious and darling all rolled into one. This is what big brothers do!)

Our Cousins are here!!!!

(February 2019)
My sister and her family came into town for a week over their winter break.

The kids loved having their cousins to play with all week.

We just love our cousins.

3 of 4 girls are much older BUT they dont let age interfere.

They play, read and entertain my littles all day.

I appreciate them.

 
One day we went to Disneyland together!!!
Miles loved playing hooky.

Lane was in heaven discovering daddys shoulders.

The cousins loved their mickey suckers.

It was so fun to go on Space Mountain with my nieces.

Annaliese was so nervous but ended up LOVING it.

We are so happy that Miles loves the big rides.

He is a newbie to Space Mountain and he is a big fan!

We had a rare sighting of Andie asleep with a sucker...at the happiest place on earth!

It is always the best walking down main street at night.

It really is magical.

Happy Valentines Day

(February 14, 2019)

Our family started a new Valentine tradition.

Fondue!

the kids call it FUNDUE.

 

We dipped celery, apples, bread, sausage and little smokies into the cheesy goodness!

Everyone loved using the long skewers as their silverware for the night.

For the dessert....

We dipped pound cake, bananas, strawberries, brownie bites, pretzels, graham crackers and nilla waffers into the chocolate!

 IT WAS...SO DELICIOUS!!!

Snow Day at Grammys

(February 9, 2019)

Grammy and Grandpa Neil finally got snow!

We have been waiting oh so patiently for snowflakes to come!

We spent the afternoon sledding down their fun hill while Lane stayed inside with Grammy. 

Real smiles... 

real laughter...

real joy!

When we were done sledding we went inside to change into warm and cozy jammies where Lane and Miles fell fast asleep before we even left.

Happy Birthday Miles

(January 24, 2019) 

Miles is seven!

This reptile loving, stretchy toy obsessed, slinky pulling, constant paper airplane folding, finally tall enough for all the rides at Disneyland and toothless boy is SEVEN!

We cannot believe how fast the time goes by.

It has been fun to watch this one grow so much this year both academically and socially.

He still claims to be "shy" but we don't buy it for a second.

He is loud, wild and funny.

He has discovered music-his new love for the Macarena and the floss have us smitten.

He doesn't just lock in on the Macarena..."I am a gummy bear", "Its raining tacos",
"space unicorn" and "Spooky Scary Skeleton" are on repeat too.

He is an awesome big brother and is getting to good at carrying his baby around. 

He always thinks he has a sweet tooth but can never finish the treat.

He always thinks he can stay up late, but is the first one to crash.

He always claims he "can't do it" but the second you challenge him he surprises himself with a win!

He really is a sweet boy trying to be a good kid.

They say seven is lucky, but I think were the lucky ones....even when he STILL gets into our bed every night and is all over the place...were still lucky.

 This year for his birthday, he wanted a reptile party!

So we found a reptile guy to bring all his creature friends. 

The kids were so excited!

Because Miles was the birthday boy he got to hold every creature and call on a few friends to come up to help with each animal.

He held spiders

lizards,

Huge iguanas,

Snakes,(gulp)

and more snakes!

{this was way too much for me BUT look how happy Miles is!
He literally is so so happy hugging that thing under his chin.}

(too bad Lane was napping and missed the entire show)

After the show we hurried inside for presents...

and a snake cake!!!

Another successful birthday party in the books!

It was a great day FULL of fun for our reptile loving boy!
